If you receive a message stating "ShellMenu is Unregistered" after installing Express Send please follow the instructions below. This usually occurs if there was an issue installing Express Send or it was only half-way installed.
WINDOWS Vista / 7 Users
These directions assume you accepted the default installation options on setup.
- If you have uninstalled Express Send try re-downloading the application (http://express.textconnects.com/files/expresssend_proxy.exe) and reinstalling it.
- If this does not fix the error continue on.
- Click on START and type in RUN in the search box
- Click on the RUN application in the search results
- Type in the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Express Send\expressSend.exe" /install (quotes are needed)
- The application should now work correctly, if you are still having trouble please email support: support@textconnects.com
If you are trying to completely remove Express Send.
- Follow Steps 1-5 above to re-install Express Send
- Go to Start - Control Panel - Uninstall A Program
- Click on Express Send and then Uninstall
- Open up My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86) and see if there is a folder Named "Express Send"
- If you found no folder you are done and Express Send is completely removed, otherwise continue on.
- Verify that the only file left in the Express Send folder is shellmenu.exe
- If you have more than this one file please contact our support team for further assistance at support@textconnects.com
- Restart your computer by hitting the start button and clicking restart
- As the computer restarts hit the F8 key repeatedly until you see an option to start your computer in safe mode
- Use the arrow keys to highlight "Safe Mode" then hit enter
- Login to your computer and hit START
- Type in RUN in the search box
- Click on the RUN application in the search results
- Type in the following: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Express Send\shellmenu.exe" /uninstall
- Open up My Computer and navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Express Send
- Click on shellmenu.exe and hit DELTE
- You can now delete the Express Send folder as well (Express Send is completely removed from your computer)
WINDOWS XP / 2000 Users
These directions assume you accepted the default installation options on setup.
- If you have uninstalled Express Send try re-downloading the application (http://express.textconnects.com/files/expresssend_proxy.exe) and reinstalling it.
- If this does not fix the error continue on.
- Click on START and click on RUN
- Type in the following: "C:\Program Files\Express Send\expressSend.exe" /install (quotes are needed)
